Nobody could accuse Hayley and Steve of leaping into a hasty wedding. Steve proposed to Hayley when their son, Jacob, was just two years old, not anticipating that by the time they tied the knot he would be their 11 year-old ring bearer! So after a nine-year engagement and a second arrival in the shape of two year old Heidi, they finally celebrated their marriage at the St Ives Harbour Hotel last Wednesday.

It was another beautiful Spring day in St Ives and we were thrilled to join them for a few hours to capture the main parts of the day. We started shortly before their ceremony with a few shots of Hayley getting ready in the bridal suite, slightly hampered by a rather distressed Heidi, who was finding the commotion a bit unsettling. But nothing could diminish the radiance of this beautiful bride, who smiled her way through the whole day, assisted by her bridesmaids Millie, Lillie and Darcie, plus second flower girl Rosie.

Hayley and Steve wanted a really chilled beachside wedding, so after the speeches they skipped the traditional wedding breakfast in favour of an Afternoon Tea. We often find that when brides and grooms choose to travel to Cornwall for their wedding they don’t necessarily want the usual trimmings, which makes all weddings unique (and great fun to shoot). After the fresh scones were reduced to crumbs on the plate we headed off to the beach, with one request – “we just want one nice photo of the four of us”. Well, we hope we managed more than one, but here is a quick first selection of the images from the day, with at least one nice photo of the lovely family on the beach.

Thank you for choosing us to capture your day, Hayley & Steve. We hope you love the photos. Lots of love, Dawn & David xx
