We had a quick property shoot at St Columb Major on Saturday morning, which gave us a good excuse to head up to Padstow for some lunch. With the exception of St Ives (of course), Padstow is our favourite coastal town in Cornwall, but if we get there twice a year we’ve done well.
We arrived in the middle of a rededication service for HMS Dasher, a Royal Navy training ship in Padstow for the weekend. After listening for a while, and seeing the fly-past by a Merlin, we had a great lunch in Rojano’s on the Square – recently refurbished and now co-owned by Michelin-starred chef Paul Ainsworth. Spring had briefly sprung and we ate al fresco in shirtsleeves.
Just enough time for a brief wander around the harbour and some shots of the fishing fleet and visitors before heading back to St Ives.
