James & Georgina’s story is most definitely ‘made in St Ives’. Their love for one another developed on their first holiday together – a winter visit to St Ives in early 2009. Four years later in early 2013 James chose Bamaluz Beach to pop the question. And on 11th January 2014 they returned to seal their love and get married at the St Ives Harbour Hotel, joined by 40 family and friends.
We were lucky enough to join them for our first wedding of the year, and it was a simply beautiful day, in every way. The bride looked utterly gorgeous in her full length lace gown, her long hair in a loose plait and decorated with gypsophila. The groom serenaded her down the aisle, playing a piece of music he had written especially for this moment (swoon!). The winter storms subsided to give way to a stunning winter’s day, allowing us to take the couple off to Porthmeor for a stroll along the beach in magnificent sunshine. And after a sumptuous wedding breakfast, James kicked off the evening’s entertainment with guitar back in hand, ably supported by Matt on the Double Bass, and his vocalist sister, Rebecca. And boy – they were good!
It was a privilege, as it always is, to share the bride & groom’s day. We have lots of editing to do yet, but have pulled out some of our early favourites for this initial glimpse of the photo’s. We wish Georgina & James every happiness in the future, and hope they enjoy these first images from their day in the sun. With love, Dawn & David x
