The morning after the horrific storms of Valentine’s Day 2014 we awoke to that rarest of commodities this winter in Cornwall – sunshine! We count ourselves blessed to join any bride and groom on their wedding day, but we have been especially lucky to have dry and sunny days for our first two weddings of this rain-soaked year.
By lunchtime the weather was still behaving as we joined groom Chris with his best man Jason – younger brother by four years, but looking spookily alike the groom. Jason must have been very honoured to play the role of Chris’s best man – after all Chris does have ten siblings, including three brothers to choose from!
Bride Donna was looking radiant as we joined her in the bridal suite at the lovely St Ives Harbour Hotel, along with beautiful daughter Amelia, sister-in-law Yvonne and niece Elise. The two flower girls and bridesmaid all looked a picture in pink as they made their final preparations. After a lovely ceremony presided over beautifully by Nigel and Angie from the team of Penzance Registrars we decided that the beach was calling, and we just about hung on to the sunshine long enough for a quick bride and groom shoot on Porthminster Beach.
After the Groom’s father Brian, Groom Chris and Best Man Jason had delivered their speeches to the 30 or so family and friends from Stoke-on Trent, we took a quick break to recharge our batteries (literally and metaphorically!). By the time we returned for the evening celebrations the weather had closed in again, and the brief but lovely respite was over. We left the party to continue into the night, and here are some of the early results of our day’s work. We wish Donna & Chris every happiness, and hope we have done justice to your special day.
