Especially Lucy, who got hitched to her very own Royal Marine, Chris when they were married at the St Ives Harbour Hotel last Saturday. It was our pleasure to be there to capture the day for a lovely couple and their equally lovely families and friends.

After a brief shower threatened to dampen the spirits in the morning, the sun was out and the mercury was rising fast when we joined the Groom with his two Best Men at the hotel – friend Chris and older brother Simon sharing the duties, assisted by Simon’s son Josh as Page Boy.

Up in the bridal suite everything was calm as Bride’s mum Sarah assisted Lucy with her dress, along with bridesmaids (and Goddaughters) Aleks and Isobel. They all looked beautiful, and there was a lovely serenity about the family that kept everyone calm. Maybe it’s the military genes in the family – father of the Bride, Bob, was a Royal Marine Reserve in his youth, and Lucy’s Granddad also proudly wore his green beret.

After the knot was tied and the Pimms was consumed we headed for a very crowded Porthminster Beach. All our Brides & Grooms cause a stir when we hit the beach, but more-so than usual for a Groom in his Blues of the Royal Marines, such is the admiration and respect for the job they do. And one became eight when some of Chris’s fellow Marines joined the party, and raised the interest levels even further.

Back in the calm of the Harbour Hotel we were entertained by the speeches before heading away to recharge batteries and cool down before heading back in the evening. We left the Bride & Groom after their first dance to enjoy the rest of the party and a balmy summer evening in beautiful St Ives.

It was a joy to spend the day with the new Mr & Mrs Williams – following a first dash through the photo’s here is a first peek at the day’s events. We hope Lucy & Chris like them, and we wish them a life full of happy days and lovely memories. With love, Dawn & David xx
