Last Wednesday we had the joy and privilege to join Viktoria and Dayo from Cheshire for their special day. For this wedding, in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Guildhall in St Ives, we were especially delighted to be attending not only as photographers but also as witnesses to the marriage.
Like many other couples we have been lucky enough to meet whilst doing this wonderful job, Viktoria & Dayo decided to slip away to beautiful St Ives for the most intimate of weddings – just the two of them and their lovely boy, Reuben. Oh, and us, of course!
Viktoria looked absolutely beautiful in her ivory full-length gown (and wellies!), and her boys splendid in their matching navy blue suits. Although Reuben decided that the buttonhole wasn’t really his thing.
During a busy season of full-day and evening weddings it was a real joy to spend a couple of hours in their company for their ceremony and then for a wander down to Porthminster Beach for some family fun – with wellies and brollies to boot on this particularly un-sunny summer’s day.
The weather can be a bit of a dampener when it misbehaves with a hundred or more guests to worry about, but with the whole focus on enjoying their own day, the weather didn’t limit the enjoyment. After a wander along the deserted beach, and a few running races for Reuben and Dayo, we threw confetti (another duty for Dawn!) and popped champagne. On this occasion we were even persuaded to join in and toast the happy couple (in our role as witnesses, of course).
It was a pleasure to meet Mr & Mrs Adelodun, and we hope their family and friends enjoy seeing the photos of the day. Here are the first of them. With love, Dawn & David xxx
