What a lucky pair we are. How great to be able to spend your working life helping lovely families celebrate the most special of days, and giving them wonderful memories they can treasure for many years. And yesterday’s marriage of Steph & Rich was indeed a very special day for two very lovely families.
It’s fair to say that Steph was a little anxious when we first arrived in her bridal suite, but bridesmaids Charlotte, Vicki, Jenny, Kirstie, Lucy, Ellie-Mae and shy flower girl Lilyana were all on hand to reassure her. She looked like a princess in her beautiful wedding gown, adorned with lace and a very clever jacket top that revealed a totally different look later in the day. Steph had always been worried about everyone looking at her as she doesn’t enjoy being the centre of attention, but it was lovely to see her relax throughout the day, enjoying the day more and more as it unfolded, and maybe even getting used to the love and attention lavished on her from family and friends.
When we met Rich he was a lot more chilled with Best Man and older brother, Tim, who nearly fooled us when we first met him, so similar does he look to his younger brother. Just a bit more handsome (in his own words!). Also on hand was Steph’s younger brother, Piers, fellow usher Gavin and page boy/ring bearer Alfie. It was lovely to see how close the families were, with loads of affection between Steph and Piers, who was constantly on hand with support wherever needed. One of the many memorable moments of the day came when Steph and Piers were walking arm-in-arm across Porthminster Beach when they were treated to a loud round of applause from the diners at Porthminster Beach Cafe – little did they know they were cheering the bride and her brother!
There were many other highlights for the two of us capturing the events of the day. The look on ring-bearer Alfie’s face when Tim denied having the rings for him. Tim’s Best Man speech, when he choreographed the whole room to unwittingly create a selfie of a standing ovation for his speech. And Steph & Rich’s first dance, also choreographed and culminating in a sweeping embrace and lingering kiss, to the delight of everyone watching.
Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Hunkin, on a simply perfect day. We hoped you enjoyed every minute and that these first images from the day capture the joy you both felt. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with you and your family and friends. With love, Dawn & David xx
