While the party to celebrate Laura & David’s wedding continues down the road at the St Ives Harbour Hotel, our working day is extending long into the evening to complete this first preview of the photos before heading off on our own break in the sun tomorrow morning. As a result the blog is a little shorter than usual – after all there’s still packing to be done!

But what a great day it’s been. Despite professing to being disorganised and always late, Laura – along with bridesmaids Steph & Molly – was ready super-early, giving us plenty of time to get our shots without holding up the registrars (for a change!). David and his Best Man, Rob, were similarly prompt, already dressed and enjoying a beer on the terrace nearly two hours before the ceremony. And so it was throughout the day – everything running smoothly and on time, and everyone making the most of a warm, humid July day, even with the sea fret regularly blowing across the bay. It may have dampened the guests slightly but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits as we headed to a mostly deserted Porthminster Beach, borrowing some unsuspecting holidaymakers deck chairs while they weren’t looking!

Back at the hotel after the wedding breakfast Laura’s Dad, Graham, made a touching speech, declaring this his proudest day. And rightly so – his little girl looked stunning in her wedding gown and clearly loved the whole day. The 80 or so family and friends who made the trip from Birmingham to help them celebrate joined him in congratulating the new Mr & Mrs Miller. We’d like to add our own congratulations and thanks for allowing us to capture the day. We hope you like the first of the images, the rest will be on their way after we’ve had our rest! With lots of love, Dawn & David xx
