Last Saturday Rebecca & Geoff tied the knot at the St Ives Harbour Hotel, and we were delighted to be there with them and around 80 of their friends and family, most having travelled from London for the celebrations.
Like many of our clients who don’t relish the idea of having their picture taken all day long, Geoff was not keen on being the centre of attention – especially having his photo taken while being watched by all his mates! So we were careful to use more candid and reportage photography, which works particularly well with groups of guests who are having lots of fun – and that was certainly the case on this day, making it easy to capture their happiness. We were delighted that Geoff was still talking to us at the end of the day, and hadn’t found it too much of an ordeal! We take that as a big compliment, as we pride ourselves on trying to make all our brides and grooms feel really comfortable in front of the cameras.
The day went perfectly from start to finish – we had the sunshine Rebecca was hoping for and the months of planning ensured everything ran smoothly. The only hiccup was a slight delay to the ceremony after one of the Registrars was held up in the Cornish summer traffic, keeping Rebecca (who seemed surprised to be ready in good time) single for a few minutes longer.
Amongst many memorable moments throughout the day – hopefully all captured by us – we really enjoyed the speech by Best Man, James. As a lifelong Spurs fan, Geoff obviously loved the message of congratulations James had secured ….. from Arsene Wenger! It was quickly destroyed.
After the speeches finished and we had a little lull in proceedings before the evening reception we took a lovely trip to The Island for an evening stroll as the sun started to drop. And upon returning to the Hotel for the evening we were treated to one of our extra special St Ives sunsets to finish off an extra special day.
We hope Rebecca & Geoff have happy memories of their day that live long into the future, and enjoy this first taster of their photos. With love, Dawn & David xx
