We first met Jeanette & Graham a couple of years ago, when we photographed the wedding of Jeanette’s son Mike with his bride Zoe at St Erth Church. It’s always lovely to meet up with our brides and grooms, especially when we find out they’re expecting their first baby (congratulations, Zoe!). And especially when it’s at another wedding – it’s the best endorsement we can hope for.

We rose early for a full day’s work with five separate locations in the schedule. After starting at the Best Man’s house where the boys were getting kitted out in their fantastic Cornish tartan, we headed off to the Bride’s house where the girls were met by an escort of around 20 outriders from the Aquila Motorcycle Club, which Graham is a member of. Then it was a dash to Heartlands in time to see the bridal party arrive for the ceremony and afterwards some photos to make the most of the great gardens and engine house. Our original plan was then to head back to the reception at Chy an Albany Hotel in St Ives, but the latest weather forecast predicted torrential rain to add to the blustery winds we were already battling. So our planned early evening escape to Hayle estuary with the bride and groom was brought forward while the rain stayed away, together with Sidney & Daisy, Jeanette & Graham’s American Bulldogs. Sidney must be the biggest dog we’ve ever met – 18 months old and a strapping 10 stone, but as soft as an Andrex puppy.

Successfully dodging the rain we hot-footed it back to St Ives where the guests were gathering, and rather than let them enjoy their drinks we whisked them all outside for a few quick group photos. And just in the nick of time. As we finished the promised rain arrived, and boy did it arrive. After a break while the guests ate and drank their way through the next couple of hours, we returned to join the evening party. And by the time we left we could predict that this party was going to go on for some while.

We’ve delayed this blog while Jeanette & Graham enjoyed their honeymoon cruise. We hope they had a fantastic time, and enjoy reliving their day through these first photos. With love, Dawn & David xx
