Danni & Darren’s story began as friends at the tender age of just 17. But it was 10 years later, following a chance meeting at a Police pensions rally in London, that love blossomed. Fast forward another five years to Easter Saturday and their fabulous wedding day at the St Ives Harbour Hotel, within sight of Godrevy, where Darren popped the question. They both still work in the Police force, but now back in Cornwall and living in Camborne (the posh bit). Darren is now a police dog handler, and we are reliably informed is about to become a major TV star after a film crew followed him around for a fortnight for the documentary series Devon & Cornwall Cops (ITV, Monday, 8.00pm).
Danni & Darren both took the entire week off before the wedding to make sure they could take the time to focus on the day and be rested from work. It clearly worked, and they made the most of a wonderful day as their plans all came together in the spring sunshine. We had a lovely beach shoot on Porthminster, a drive around town in a Morgan, sunset over Porthmeor beach, a first dance confetti cannon, sparklers on the terrace, and even an impromptu roller-skating display by Danni and a few of her team mates from the Rapscallion Rollers roller derby team.
All the friends and family of the bride and groom played their part in helping the happy couple celebrate, but special mentions go to Bridesmaids Gemma & Amber, flower girl Delaney (what a cutie!), Best Man Adam, Usher Alcwyn and Page Boy Archie.
We have scooted through the many, many images of the day to bring you this first selection. We hope Danni & Darren enjoy them and they rekindle the joy of the day. With love, Dawn & David xx
