When we first met Caroline & Matt at a Wedding Fair last year they had already made up their mind to hire a videographer rather than a photographer for their wedding. We were delighted when, after chatting to us (well, Dawn mostly!), they began to rethink their plan, and ultimately hired us along with the fantastic Joel from Dove Films to record their day.

We were especially pleased because it gave us a first opportunity to shoot a wedding at The Green, tucked away in the Cornish countryside close to Liskeard. We’ve seen plenty of their wedding posts on Facebook so it felt familiar, and once we’d made a quick visit to their Taster Day in July we felt very much at home there.

It really is a special venue, and understandably popular with brides and grooms from around the country. Caroline and Matt had brought around 100 of their friends and family from London to celebrate their Cornish wedding, complete with mini Cornish Cream Tea as a canapé after the ceremony and Cornish pasties later on in the day.

Caroline looked stunning in her full length wedding gown, supported by her proud father, sister Lorinda and her two young children, Olly & Lilah. Caroline’s two older children, Reece & Daniel were also on hand to look after their mum when nerves started to get the better of her before the ceremony. But after the celebrant had taken the happy couple through their vows and exchange of rings the nerves were quickly replaced by the joy of the day.

After joining their guests for drinks and canapés we took Caroline & Matt and the children away for some intimate family portraits. We love the way the light falls on the greenery behind them while they stay in lovely cooling shade on what was a warm summer’s day. We left the wedding party as they sat down for their wedding breakfast, leaving the rest of the day to Joel. The cream tea at Lanhydrock on the way home went down very nicely!

We hope we managed to capture the lovely chilled vibe and the beautiful surroundings. We wish Caroline & Matt and their family every happiness for the future and hope they enjoy these first pics from the day. Lots of love, Dawn & David xx
